a didgeridon't

not being an especially sporty person, i haven't watched much of the olympics.

i did see shaun white's second half-pipe run, after he'd already clinched the gold, and it was kind of epic.

and so is this:

epically wrong.  epically insulting.  what the junk?  who thought these costumes were a good idea?

I didn't stay awake long enough to find out who won overall, but when this skate (ugh) got first place (while I was watching) over the two other skates I saw, I was SO MAD. I know that it is 3 skate scores combined, but MAN did I hate their skate.

they got a ton of slack for those costumes. apparently they even offended he aboriginals they based the costumes on.

def, awful.

yeah - not only were they tacky they are offensive to the Australian indigenous people.

So bad on so many levels.

that, my friend, is the toned-down second version of those outfits.

what I couldn't figure out was why, since the overall theme of the skates was an ethnic dance, they didn't do a Russian-based dance. They are actually Russian after all...

What got me was that those were their 2nd attempt at the costumes, after taking so much heat for the first ones...not their best move!

We don't have cable anymore, so we haven't watched any of the Olympics. Is that terribly unpatriotic? :)

Thanks for stopping by! How awesome to be raised in a Christian camp. My thoughts of it may be more romanticized, but I have fond memories of going to camp growing up. Have a blessed week!
